01/30/06 - Duck Lake Crossing Reaches 75 Percent Sold Mark
Home sales are booming at Duck Lake Crossing, with 75 percent of the homes at the Fox Lake community now sold. Nestled among trees for a private, scenic atmosphere, the Reserve One Homes community will include only 36 single-family homes. Home sites range from one-quarter acre to more than 2 ½ acres.

Eight floor plans range from 2,184 to 3,450 square feet, and offer three to six bedrooms and 2 ½ to 3 ½ baths. Homes are base-priced from $225,990 to $347,990.

Three homes offer optional second-floor family/media rooms while one includes an option for a first-floor master suite and a second-floor great room.

Duck Lake Crossing's rolling terrain also lends itself to a variety of basement styles, including 9- and 10-foot walkouts and English basements.

Only nine homes, plus two custom homes, remain available.

One furnished model, the Fairchild, is featured at Duck Lake Crossing. The 3,352-square-foot home received several awards, for its exterior, kitchen, master bedroom and bath, last fall at the Lake County Home Builders Association's Lake County Tour of Homes.

The Fairchild features four bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, two-story family room, first-floor den, gourmet island kitchen, basement and attached three-car garage. Popular options include an upstairs media room/family room or fifth bedroom suite, as well as a first-floor guest room and bath. The home is base-priced at $337,990.

Besides great homes packed with value and amenities, recreational opportunities are plentiful at Duck Lake Crossing. Fox Lake was once a popular summer destination for wealthy Chicagoans, and outdoor recreation abounds. Recreation includes boating, swimming, fishing, biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, skating and sledding. The nearby Chain O' Lakes State Park--nearly 2,800 acres-adjoins a 3,200-acre conservation area. With nearly 6,500 acres of water and 48 miles of shoreline, the area is a recreational paradise.

Duck Lake Crossing children will attend Big Hollow Elementary School District 38 and Grant Township High School District 124.

Reserve One Homes also is building single-family homes at Vern's Landing in Fox Lake, and at Running Brook Farm in northwest suburban Johnsonburg. Running Brook Farm also includes a neighborhood of townhomes
