03/03/06 - Spring Perfect Time to Enjoy New Reserve One Home
Winter's grip is waning and spring is beckoning.

People will be heading outside in search of sun, warmth and fresh air. So it's the perfect time to consider not only what's inside but also what's outside the front door of that new home.

Residents of Vern's Landing in Fox Lake have plenty to enjoy. The Reserve One Homes community, which features a variety of styles and floor plans, is within minutes of an extensive offerings of recreational activities and conveniences.

Only 34 single-family homes will be built in this private alcove, which features large home sites ranging from one-third to one acre. Eight floor plans range from 2,084 to 3,450 square feet and offer three to six bedrooms and two to 3 1/2 baths. Base prices range from $255,990 to $322,990.

"The homes are just one attraction. The neighborhood is a big draw for Vern's Landing buyers," said Lisa Porter-Loftus, a partner with Reserve One Homes.

Fox Lake once was known as a popular summer destination for wealthy Chicagoans and residents today still enjoy an outstanding array of opportunities for outdoor fun. Summer recreation abounds and includes water sports such as boating, swimming, fishing, biking and hiking. Vern's Landing is within walking distance of Chain O' Lakes State Park, which includes 2,793 acres of park, plus an adjoining 3,230 acre conservation area. Nearly 6,500 acres of water and 488 miles of shoreline make this area a recreational paradise.

Within the park, visitors enjoy picnicking, boating and swimming. Four trail systems offer space for biking, hiking and horseback riding. And camp sites and cabins are available for those who want to enjoy even more of the great outdoors.

Residents love the beautiful setting, Loftus said. "Vern's Landing is close to the Chain O' Lakes park, plus great schools, yet it's surrounded by an existing neighborhood, so it's private and serene."

Children will attend Lotus Elementary School and Stanton Middle School in Big Hollow School District No. 38 and Grant Community High School District No. 124.

Vern's Landing is at State Park Road and Deer Run, but sales are currently taking place at Reserve One's Duck Lake Crossing community, near Routes 12 and 59 North in Fox Lake.

From Route 12, take the North Route 59 exit and turn right on the Frontage Road to Chris Larkin Road. Follow the signs to sales center, which is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
